Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Sjeffie (the “Service”), available at sjeffie.co.za. By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Sjeffie is an AI meal-planning companion that helps you plan meals, build shopping lists and organise your household cooking. Features may change, and some are described as “coming soon”.

2. Beta status

The Service is currently offered as a private beta. It is provided “as is”, may contain bugs, may change or be interrupted, and is not guaranteed to be available at all times.

3. Your account

You can use Sjeffie as a guest or by signing in with an email or WhatsApp one-time code. You are responsible for keeping access to your email/number secure and for the activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and be old enough to enter into these Terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to disrupt it, access it without authorisation, reverse engineer it, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

5. Recipes, nutrition & allergies — important

Sjeffie generates meal suggestions using AI. Recipes, portion sizes, nutritional estimates and rewards/cash-back estimates are provided for general guidance only and may be inaccurate. They are not medical, dietary or nutritional advice. You are responsible for checking ingredients and preparation against your household’s allergies, dietary needs and food-safety requirements. Always verify allergen information on product packaging. If in doubt, consult a qualified professional.

6. Rewards programmes

Sjeffie is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any retailer or rewards programme (such as Vitality, Multiply, SmartShopper, Xtra Savings, WRewards or ClubCard). Any cash-back or savings references are estimates only and subject to those programmes’ own terms.

7. Subscriptions

Some features are free. Paid plans may be introduced in future; pricing and terms for those plans will be presented to you before you are charged.

8. Intellectual property

The Sjeffie name, brand, design and software are owned by us. Your household data and the content you create remain yours; you grant us the permission needed to operate the Service for you.

9. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law.

10. Termination

You may stop using Sjeffie at any time and delete your data. We may suspend or end access to the Service where necessary, for example to protect the Service or comply with the law.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
